Close but no cigar for Little Neck Parkway for now

More speed cameras are being added in school zones after the Governor signed the bill yesterday.

The speed camers will now operate 24 hours, 7 days a week, all year around. The previous timing was 6am to 10pm when the cameras were active. The fine will remain $50 without points.

The NYC Dept of Transportation has Little Neck Parkway between 74th Avenue and 260th Street for speed cameras in Glen Oaks. A timeline has not been announced for the setup due to lack of understanding ability by the municipal workers.

One of the primary reasons is due to downhill roads involving parents dropping their children to the local school from the north to south. The more tickets, the more outrage so this is on hold for now.

The good news is a new speed camera is added to 85th Avenue on Little Neck Parkway and another for south will be added soon.
