Chipping weekend starts in Queens

January 12 and 13 from 10am to 2pm, Queens will have chipping weekend where people can bring their own Christmas trees to be converted into mulch.

The chipping will be done in front of people and then take them home as mulch.

The following locations will be open for the public.

Cunningham Park on Union Turnpike and 196 Street, Astoria Park on 19th Street and Hoyt Avenue, Brookville Park on Brookville Boulevard and 143rd Avenue, Forest Park on Forest Park Drive and Woodhaven Boulevard, Hunters Point South Park on 51st Avenue and Center Boulevard, Juniper Valley Park on 80th Street between Juniper Boulevard North and South and Travers Park on 78th Street between Northern Boulevard and 34th Avenue.
