Child died after struck by vehicle in Long Island

Police reported a child inside the stroller died after being struck by a vehicle in Long Island. The 2 year old died of injuries after the incident was reported on Monday around 6pm in Patchogue, Suffolk County. The mother who was accompanying the child was also hit but now in stable condition. It happened on Medford Avenue. Police reported the mother was pushing her daughter inside the stroller when it happened. The driver remained on the scene and is cooperating with the police. Ongoing investigation.
