Charges will be announced for the mother who threw the baby out in Richmond Hill

The Queens DA Melinda Katz will announce the charges against Sabita Dookram, 23 for allegedly throwing out the newborn baby from her bathroom window to the ground outside. The baby remains at Cohen's Hospital in New Hyde Park. The incident which happened on October 11 around 10:30am by 126 Street sparked outrage. Police reported she gave birth in the bath tub and then allegedly thrown out to which the baby miraculously survived. Local residents heard noises and called 911.
