Carjacking attempt on the LIE

Police are reporting a suspect with a gun in in the vicinity of the LIE and 188 Street attempting to carjack in Fresh Meadows. All lanes shut down. Heavy police presence by the Horace Harding Expressway and 188 Street. The suspect is male, black wearing all black armed with a gun. The NCPD also shut down the border. Reported the suspect has accomplice in a vehicle. Ongoing investigation. Chopper and K-9 notified.

Now reporting the Clearview Expressway westbound by the LIE is closed after visibility of the suspect.
