Cardozo slashing suspect remains in jail with 100 000 bail

Joshua Wells, 15, student of Cardozo High School in Bayside was arrested on December 11 after his mother called authorities while hiding at home from the slashing of another student. The Queens DA's office reported Wells was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and assault with intent to cause injury. His bail was set at $100,000 with $50,000 cash which has not been posted as of yet. He was issued a court appointed lawyer from Legal Aid Society. At the same time, he was issued order of protection not to be near the victim. His next court date is December 18. Meanwhile, security has increased at Cardozo High School.
