Cameras ok ed for subway cars to keep people safe in NYC

The MTA will start the installation of 2 cameras inside each subway car in NY. There are 6,455 subway cars in use. The project will cost $5.5 million with $2 million from the feds and the rest MTA will cough up. To complete the task, MTA stated 18 to 24 months by adding 300 to 400 cameras a month. This was announced by the Governor who was at the Corona Maintenance Facility in Queens today morning. The cameras will keep people safe from crime. The installation will start with 2,4,5,6 E, F, M, G and R. As of this year, there were 5 murders, 8 rapes, 351 assaults and 413 robberies, the highest ever for NYC.
