Cab driver robbed in Seaford after theft in Stop and Shop

Police are investigating a robbery that happened on August 27 at 6:40pm in Seaford. According to detectives, a male victim, 50, acting in his capacity as a cab driver, was instructed by his passenger to drive to the Stop & Shop, located at 4055 Merrick Road, where the passenger entered the store. While inside, the subject was observed loading a shopping cart with items from the shelves and exiting the store without attempting to pay for the merchandise. He then entered the cab and ordered the driver to quickly drive off. When the driver refused, the subject shoved the driver and drove off in the cab northbound on Washington Ave. The victim did not sustain any injuries. The stolen vehicle was later located abandoned in the parking lot of C-Town located at 32 Wheeler Rd., Central Islip. The subject is described as a male Hispanic, approximately 5?2? tall. No further description is available. Ongoing investigation.
