Bus fell causing panic at a sinkhole in New Hyde Park

A luxury liner bus fell at the local medical parking lot in New Hyde Park. The sinkhole is in the vicinity of 1979 Marcus Avenue.

Police said the bus was parked and there were no passengers inside during the incident.

Also, police did not disclose details to how it happened but several witnesses said the bus was parked there unauthorized and then the ground collapsed since there is an underground parking lot.

EMS is checking for injuries at the underground parking lot.

Also, the hot asphalt dropped onto several vehicles underground resulting in damages.

The construction crew is enroute to the scene.

A worker on the scene say the hot asphalt melted and the bus was heavy.

Chopper is hovering above.
