Brush fire chaos on Long Island

This afternoon around 3pm, firefighters were heading to Westhampton reporting a heavy brush fire that extended all around.

More than 1,000 emergency personnel from firefighters to Air National Guard are working on the scene.

EMS reported multiple injuries including firefighters.

The local airports are closed and residents are evacuated from the area.

Nassau County is sending their firefighters to the scene along with medical personnel.

Chopper is now doing water drops.

Sunrise Highway after Exit 55 is closed.

More firefighters are enroute.

The fire is now extending to another mile.
