The NY Governor will not file lawsuits or take action against the Nassau County Executive for the mask mandates and other non-enforcements.
After the Nassau County Executive signed an executive order it's up to each local school board with the authority to impose mandates, the Governor says, “Those who underestimate me do so at their own peril. And that includes the Nassau County Executive.”
That being said, no further action will be taken against Nassau County and leave it as it is.
The Governor stated the law of the state can exercise authority. This includes schools regulated by State Education Dept but at the moment, she has not made any decision.
