Billionaire joins NYCFC soon to the new stadium in Flushing

Today, the New York City Football Club, also known as New York City FC and shortened as NYCFC, a professional US soccer team based in NYC has a 10% stake to a new owner and his name is Marcelo Claure. The club is now valued at $1.5 billion dollars from $800 million. As of now the share of the club is 80% with CFG (City Football Group US Holdco LLC), 10% Claure and 10% with NY Yankees.

Claure also co-founded Major League Soccer club Inter Miami CF and is the owner of Team Brazil, which competes in the E1 series, the first and only electric race boat championship according to the press release today.

The future stadium at Willets Point, Flushing is on track to complete on time for 2027. Currently the team is playing at Yankee Stadium during the season.

Flushing is all geared with the developments at Willets Point as the new stadium is the most expensive one in the MLS history.
