Bill delayed due to migrant crisis in NYC

The City Council bill, 0758 requiring all electric bikes to be registered and licensed will be delayed for a long long time due to the migrant crisis in NYC.

The city has given migrants electronic bikes, mopeds and scooters for work and with growing incoming from the open border down south, the bill will not be looked at for this year.

The representative of delivery works, Workers Justice Project with over 12,000 members and growing is a strong voter base for most of the City Council Members who hate losing another election. The organization will not support the bill.

With no enforcement from motorized bikes, police can't issue fines from riding on the sidewalks or on the bike lanes. Meanwhile pedestrians are advised to stay alert when walking on the sidewalks.
