Bike lane redesign completed on Queens Blvd

The NYC mayor was in Forest Hills today on Queens Blvd and Austin Street reporting phase 3 of bike lanes in both directions complete. Phase 4 is adding a stretch to Union Turnpike which is expected to be completed by October 29. Phase 5 to Hillside Avenue is still in the discussion stage with the community board. The new design has pedestrian safety improvements, elements to preserve access to local businesses in this mixed-use residential and commercial area. Phase 1 to 4 is a 5 mile bike ride on Queens Blvd for all instead of jogging or running.
