Belmont Park makeover proposal announced

The NYS Senate under the new budget proposal announced a new project to build a new Belmont Park in Elmont.

This is part of the UBS Arena to LIRR expansion project from Bellerose to Elmont with more commercial hubs including hotel expansions. The project aims to hire 19,000 jobs with more horses to run on the tracks for more betting, 3,700 construction jobs and 740 permanent jobs at the racetrack.

Another feature proposed is to connect transportation to the area from airports.

The plan to convert Creedmoor lot into affordable housing is in the early stage.
