Bellerose man died after vehicle crashed into the security booth where he worked

Police reported Juan Mendez, 72 of Bellerose was dead after an SUV vehicle crashed into the security booth where he worked.
Mendez was taken to Bellevue Hospital on September 12 around 8pm while working as a security for a company on 59 Paidge Avenue in Brooklyn. He was sitting inside the booth when the incident happened. Police reported the building is Time Warner Cable.
The driver of SUV, a 62 year old man remained on the scene and stated he lost control. The driver remained on the scene and is cooperating with the police.
Mendez is a long time resident of Bellerose and his funeral service is at the local parish.
