Bellerose homicide suspect pleads not guilty

Today was the arraignment of the alleged suspect Jamal McGriff, 42 at the Queens criminal court in Kew Gardens charged with 50 count indictment from murder, arson, kidnapping, burglary, theft, assault and home invasion which shocked a Bellerose town in Queens.

McGriff pleads not guilty to all charges today in court represented by a court appointed lawyer paid by taxpayers.

September 8 was the day that changed the lives of a long time couple living in Bellerose when a call came in for a house fire. Further investigation disclosed gruesome details resulting in the arrest in Manhattan a few days later.

The next court date is November 12 and remains remanded at Rikers Island.

If convicted, McGriff is looking at life in prison.
