Bayside tortoise thief sentenced to six months in prison

The Queens DA's office reported the sentencing of Shawn Waters, 37 of Queens to six months prison time for stealing the popular tortoise, Millennium from Bayside. The tortoise was stolen last July 2016 from Alley Pond Environmental Center. Police received tip from a buyer responding to ad in Craigslist and pinned to Waters in Connecticut. Waters pleaded guilty in December 2016.
