Basement fire with multiple injuries in Woodside

Around 7am, FDNY reported a fire in the basement of a private home in Woodside. This is a 3 story building on 37th Road near 69th Street. Six people were taken to local hospital with injuries.

EMS reported a mother, 29 and a daughter, 7, are in critical condition at the local hospital.

By 8am, the fire was brought under control.

More than 60 firefighters were working on the scene.

The cause of fire is under investigation.
