Baldwin man arrested for attempted scam

A Baldwin man has been arrested for an attempted computer scam after contacting a 73-year-old victim claiming to work for the FTC and instructed him to purchase 6 gold bars from @jmbullion to protect his assets from his “compromised computer”. The Defendant showed up to the victim’s residence in North New Hyde Park to collect the gold bars. An investigation was conducted with the @fbinewyorkdivision and @scpdhq and the 25-year-old Defendant was placed under arrest.
