Back seat passengers must wear seat belts starting November 1 in NY

Governor Cuomo signed new bill all passengers in the backseat aged 16 and above must wear seat belts. The current law is both driver and right side front passenger required to wear seat belt. The law will start November 1 and $50 if not enforced per passenger in the back seat. 15 year old and below will not be enforced except child safety seat required for little kids. The current fine is $150 plus 3 points for drivers and $50 per front right side passenger.
NOTE - All aged 16 and below were required to wear seat belt in the back. The bill signed today is for 17 and above.
