Attempted rape at Hempstead Lake State Park

Police are searching for a suspect wanted for assault and attempted rape at Hempstead Lake State Park. The 21 year old female victim was inside the park jogging near the pedestrian bridge when a male approached and grabbed her. From there, she was dragged into the woods. The woman fought off the attacker and the suspect took off on foot. Police are searching for the suspect. Ongoing investigation. Police describe the suspect as male, late 50 to 60, 6 feet thin build with short hair and beard, both white color. The suspect was last seen wearing glasses, gray sweatpants, black jacket, gray sneakers. Ongoing investigation.
