Asked for billions but millions not enough for NYC crisis

The national homeless advocates asked for $365 billion in federal funding to continue to work on the issue nationwide including NYC. With migrants in favor, a group of homeless people are suing the NYC Mayor to stop removing them from the streets, violating their individual rights and demanding housing with safety.

The Mayor's Office stated lack of housing is a priority and the City of Yes must be passed.

Now let's go to Jackson Heights, yesterday there was a discussion on human trafficking organized by local groups.

More policies and budgets are needed to combat this by working with nonprofit agencies on Roosevelt Avenue according to local elected officials.

The minimum budget will be around $150 million taxpayer funds from the state to add more programs to help the victims without convictions or arrests of suspects.

According to local residents who prefer to be anonymous, the victims are allegedly as young as allegedly 14 years old pleading for help only to fall on deaf ears by the local elected officials. Most of the victims are living in fear since they need to pay the group that brought them to Roosevelt Avenue. The same incident is also happening in Flushing.

The Mayor's Office stated so far from the federal funding, $2.3 was received for infrastructure grants and nothing else on the homeless and human trafficking. Both issues will need to work with the Governor for more budget allocation.
