Arrest made in Baldwin for illegal vape sold

The Strategic Response Team (SRT) report the arrest of an Elmont man for an incident that occurred on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at 7:24 pm.

According to Police, officers conducted an investigation targeting the sale of flavored vape products being sold at Baldwin Convenience and Snacks located at 768 Merrick Road. During the investigation, officers observed a large quantity of flavored vape products, a large quantity of Kratom, assorted Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) products and Pepper Spray Cannisters displayed for sale. 

As a result of the investigation, Defendant Abdul Tani, 19, is charged with Sale of Restricted Products, Sale of Flavored Products Prohibited, Unlawfully Selling Noxious Materials and Unlawful Possession of Cannabis. He was issued a Desk Appearance Tickets returnable to First District Court on Friday, April 10, 2026.
