Arrest in New Hyde Park

The Third Squad reports the arrest of two (2) men for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property that occurred on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at 3:30 a.m. in New Hyde Park.
According to detectives, officers observed a white BMW sedan traveling southbound on New Hyde Park Road with illegal non transparent tinted windows. Officers activated their emergency lights to conduct a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop. The vehicle lost control and collided into a tree across from McNulty Outdoors Inc. located at 99 Lakeville Road. Three subjects exited the vehicle and fled the scene. Officers broadcasted a notification for the outstanding suspects. During the investigation, various Sawzall blades, used and cut off catalytic converters were visible inside of the vehicle. Officers observed defendant Allan Suero, 21 from the Bronx in the rear of 99 Lakeville Road and placed him under arrest without further incident. Defendant Fabian Castro, 20, of Houston, Texas was located in the rear of a residential home on 11th Street and officers placed him under arrest without further incident. The third suspect remains outstanding. The investigation is ongoing. Defendant Suero and defendant Castro are being charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th Degree. Defendant Suero is additionally being charged with Criminal Trespass 3rd Degree. They were arraigned on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
