Arrest for possessing a sexual performance by a child town of Hamlin

The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation at SP Rochester announces the arrest of Robert J. Resides, age 19, of Hilton, NY, for Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child (E Felony).

 The arrest stems from an investigation initiated in September 2024 after the New York State Intelligence Center – Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force received two CyberTipline reports regarding the upload of files suspected to contain child sexual abuse material.

 Through investigative efforts involving multiple search warrants and digital forensic analysis by the New York State Police Computer Crimes Unit (CCU), investigators identified electronic devices associated with Resides that contained numerous files depicting child sexual abuse material.

 On October 21, 2025, Resides was processed at SP Rochester, where he was released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Hamlin Court on November 10, 2025, at 7:00 p.m.
