All beaches to open on Memorial Day weekend

NYS will open all beaches for Memorial Day weekend. The rules are no more than 50% capacity and no concession stands. Masks are mandatory but bathing suits are fine. Must practice social distancing, no arcades, no picnic and no group activities including contacts.
This is only for Memorial Day weekend. For other times, a decision will be announced later.
This came after NJ Governor decided to open the beaches and people from NY would go elsewhere out of state.
The beaches will be open on May 22 with 50% reduction. However, beaches could be closed overnight if people violate rules laid out today. By May 20, all local governments must submit their plans for opening the beaches including NYC.
Mayor de Blasio stated in his press statement today before the governor that beaches will not be open earlier and has not replied after Cuomo's decision.
