Alexandria Bay man arrested on sex offense charges

On March 25, 2025, State Police arrested Tyler R. Slate, age 24, from Alexandria Bay, NY, on the following charges:

Possessing a sexual performance by a child (class “E” felony)

Promoting a sexual performance by a child (class “D” felony)

Criminal possession of a weapon 3rd degree—ammunition feeding device (class “D” felony)

Criminal possession of a weapon 4th degree—possess ghost gun (class “A” misdemeanor)

Two counts of criminal possession of a weapon 3rd degree (class “D” felony)

This arrest was the result of an investigation that started with information that was provided by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which found that Slate was distributing child exploitation material over the internet.
