ALERT Floral Park Bellerose Glen Oaks and New Hyde Park There has been reports from residents that group of people are knocking on doors to gain entry inside to check on ConEd meters or pipes in

They say due to repairs on the block, they need access to follow up. According to ConEd, the only access they have are streets to their setups. If they need entry to certain residence, ConEd is required to call or send a letter and in this case, (YES SADLY) they call from blocked numbers in advance before required to enter. ConEd worker must show proof of identification also. Several residents reported the group wore yellow jackets similar to ConEd workers and explained the situation but didn't show identification. Police has been notified. Residents are advised not to open doors. Again, residents living in the area where ConEd are working must stay alert if anyone knock on doors.
