A new precinct is on schedule for opening in Queens

The long-awaited police precinct, 116 will be opening soon. This precinct will serve Laurelton, Springfield Gardens, Rosedale, Brookville and part of Cambria Heights.

Currently, the 105th Precinct handles the large area and soon with 116th Precinct, tasks will be handled easier for both areas with more personnel.

The date of completion is early 2024 as stated in the first press announcement which was while back.

Construction began in 2021 and cost $105 million dollars.

On Monday, July 29, there will be a community forum where the public can add their inputs. Open to the public.
