A new love program from the NYC Mayor

First step first.

The NYC Mayor's Office announced a new lottery program for the city residents, only private homeowners for migrants housing.

Residents will be given a number if their home is up to standard once they apply with the city which is then inspected by the building department. Each month, 10 numbers will be drawn on the first of the month. Those residents will be required as mandatory to house up to 4 migrants per year pending approvals from city agencies. Then the migrants are tenants which will need to be registered with the housing department to stay up to date without violations.

This process is to eliminate volume applications by residents when ready with a new budget in place to handle the operation.

The budget remains at $125 per migrant with love, food, warm blankets and personal storytelling hours inside the home.

Violations if any must be cured or lien is attached to the property. If lien is not paid, the city will sell the property at an auction to recover back dues.

This is where developers are flocking to build affordable housings.

Today, FEMA, the fed agency announced over $104M in relief to NYC to aid in the city’s efforts to provide essential services to migrants.
