A NYC Councilmember working on a new bill to cancel gym membership easier

After constant complaints of the difficult of cancelling a gym membership in NYC, a local City Councilman Keith Powers is drafting a bill to allow members to cancel online anytime without restrictions. Powers is inviting local members of the Senate and Assembly to co-sponsor for the state as well. The first step is for auto-renewal members. Gyms often require documents of reason for cancellation such as change of address or medical when cancelling. Another issue is unwanted termination fees and additional months demanded by local gyms.
