80 25 126 Street is coming nicely for the new jail in Kew Gardens

With Rikers Island heading for closure for small jails in the 4 boroughs except Staten Island, the lot 80-25 126 Street is on schedule for the new jail in Queens.

After protests in Manhattan that went nowhere, Queens residents are also upset but the NYC Mayor confirmed this is all set to complete on schedule. This will cost the taxpayers a cool sum of $8.6 billion dollars including the management of private companies hired for design and drafting of 4 jails.

The jail is expected to open in 2024 or early 2025 with fanfare on Queens Blvd and Union Turnpike south side.

The locations will have job training, cafe, restrooms, waiting area and more for all to gather and meet.

This is part of the love campaign the former Mayor promised for all.
