48 seats available for upcoming election in NYC

2021 will be a major drastic election year for NYC. According to NYC Campaign Finance Board, the new matching fund is 8 to 1 from the previous 6 to 1 using taxpayer's coffer. Example is individual $250 donation match up to $2,000 in public funds. The new law also applies to less contributions from $5,100 to $2,000 for citywide races, $1,500 for borough president races, $1,000 as the maximum donation for City Council races from $2,850. There are 48 primary races for 2021. One is for Mayor and another is Comptroller. Five are for borough presidents. The biggest campaign will be 41 City Council seats up for grabs.
