40 000 sq ft mural dedicated to a doctor died from coronavirus in Flushing Meadows Corona Park

Jorge Rodriguez-Gerada painted a mural using spray paints inside the parking lot at Flushing Meadows Corona Park dedicated to a doctor who died from the COVID-19. Ydelfonso Decoo, a physician and the secretary of SOMOS was honored in the mural. The 40,000 square feet parking lot can be seen from planes above. The art called, somos la loz in Spanish to English, we are light is also dedicated to all involved in the pandemic including those died. The work is in cooperation between SOMOS care, NYC Dept of Parks, Queens Museum, El Museo de Barrio and Make the Road. This is next to the Pavilion inside the park.
