3 plus 1 equals 7 in NYC

According to NYPD, 3 people shot dead which is murder or the big word, homicide. One police officer, a rookie, was shot in Far Rockaways and 2 suspects are in custody. It happened last night after 10pm when two suspects tried to steal the officer's vehicle.

The officer was on his way to work. At the red light, two suspects tapped on the officer's vehicle with a gun displayed. This is when the officer got out of the vehicle and was shot. The suspects took off and were later apprehended. The officer underwent surgery pending details of the latest.

Now 6 police officers have been shot since last month.

Over the 24 hour period from yesterday, 7 people were shot in NYC.

Only 43 people were robbed in the same span and most of the victims were released without bail.

The NYC Mayor's Office reported more funding is needed to combat violence and will discuss with Biden tomorrow during the visit.
