13 year old arrested for hate crime in Huntington mall

Suffolk County Police arrested a Huntington Station teen after he punched another teen and made biased comments. During a dispute between two groups of juveniles at the Walt Whitman Shops, located at 160 Walt Whitman Road in Huntington Station, on May 29, a 13-year-old male punched another 13-year-old male in the face and made biased comments. The victim was not injured. The teen was arrested at the Second Precinct on June 3 at 9 p.m. and charged with Aggravated Harassment 2nd Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor and hate crime under New York State penal law. He will be arraigned at Suffolk County Family Court at a later date. (Info from Suffolk County police)
