11 year old boy died after fell into ice at Forest Park

Police reported 11 year old Anthony Perez died after fell through the frozen ice at Forest Park in Queens. It happened on Tuesday, February 6 around 4pm. Perez was trying to rescue his friend, Juan Umpierrez, 12 who fell into the frozen ice. Umpierrez is in stable condition. Perez died at Jamaica Hospital. Authorities reported there was a sign of warning of thin ice. The investigation is ongoing.
