The NYC Mayor announced a new policy in place for migrants with children to relax the 60 days limits at shelter to ensure no educational programs are disrupted. This means extension is in place with more budget to be allocated from kindergarten to sixth grade. For this, the budget is a cool $1 billion awaiting request from the incoming Trump administration where $8 billion is the NYC budget annually from the fed.

So far 6 names have been announced of blocking deportation when Trump takes office next year. The NY Governor is still deciding but the NYC Mayor has already stated of cooperation with the Trump administration legally.

Meanwhile, the scenario on Hillside Avenue between Winchester Blvd and the Cross Island Parkway in Bellerose where Creedmoor is housing migrants has residents complaining of burglaries, assaults, harassment, thefts, loitering and disorderly conduct.

A meeting has been set tomorrow for all to attend.

However, from the Mayor’s Office, this is also a state matter and so far the Governor has not responded to the resident’s plea. The meeting will be a run around for residents with no solutions to the complaints since the NYPD follow protocols from both the Mayor’s and Governor’s Offices.
