NYPD tow pound to be the new park in Manhattan

The former location of the NYPD tow pound at the pier located on 12th Avenue and 38th Street will go live this summer as a waterfront park. The date of launch is June 1. The 5.6 acre pound lot was inactive for 20 years. Work started on Wednesday and it will cost taxpayers $20 million for the first stage. More developments and budget will be announced later.
