15 minimum wage to start on January 1 in NYC

Starting January 1, NY State will start a new minimum wage increase with $15 per hour in NYC for fast food workers and employees of businesses with 11 or more workers.

NYC will be the third city nationwide after San Francisco and Seattle to have $15 minimum wage.

However, many fast food businesses have already upped their infrastructure by adding automated technology and small businesses are using robotic features by eliminating or reducing staff.
