100 million dollars guarantee health care for all New Yorkers

Mayor di Blasio announced today the city will launch the largest, most comprehensive care to guarantee health care for every New Yorker including undocumented and low income people.

The budget is $100 million dollars in tax payers fund to serve low income and up to 600,000 undocumented people without insurance.

The care will have direct access to public NYC Health + Hospitals consisting of 11 hospitals and 70 clinics from doctors, pharmacies, mental health to substance abuse programs.

This will be called NYC Care. For those who can afford will be on a sliding scale with adjustments.

The mayor clarified late evening in a press statement this is not a health care insurance but provide service on care basis in public hospitals. The NYC Care will launch in he Bronx first in the summer of 2019.

By 2021, all boroughs will have NYC Care at all public hospitals and clinics.
